Hello fellow Sherlockians! Specifically, those of you in the Chicagoland area! Bkish (Brianna), Ohhellodeath (Raquel) and Fairgroundsoldier (Zee) present to you: The Great Chicagoan Sherlockian Meetup!

Here’s the deal! For those of you that live in and around the Chicagoland area (anyone is welcome, though) and would like to venture out for a Sherlock meetup, we’ve got an idea in mind!

WHEN: Friday, July 13th (o0o0o ominous) at 1 PM

WHERE: Navy Pier in Chicago

FOR WHAT: To make friends and enjoy some lunch together!

If it’s possible, we might even head down to the Taste of Chicago!

For those of you that need parental permission, please seek it! All ages are welcome. Parents, too! Don’t shy away from meeting a few friends from Tumblr!

Please make sure that you arrange your own transportation TO and FROM Navy Pier. The Pier does have a parking garage, for those of you wishing to drive, that costs $25.00 to park on Fridays. Please consider this when making your plans, especially if you plan to enjoy some lunch!

For many Chicagoans, like myself, it’s that time of the year in the windy city when it’s far from below zero temperatures, Santa isn’t here, asking if you were naughty or nice, and we finally get to take that much needed break from shoveling our cars out from 10 inches of dirty snow.  (Side note: One year my Jeep sat covered, snowed in on the street, for a week in a half until it finally melted off.  Lazy?  Nope, more like: Don’t care to throw my back out just to drive 5mph to the 7-11 down the block).

Radio DePaul (a favorite project of mine and one of the best college stations in the nation — proven fact) is having our first ever 48 Hour Marathon this weekend from 3 pm Friday to 3 pm Sunday.

I’ll be on the radio twice: on The Mega-Awesome Show, a huge four person collaboration show from 12:00 am - 4:00 am on Saturday morning where four nerdy friends are going to get together and talk about nerdy things, and on The Mustached Crusader, the award winning nerd culture talk show from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Sunday.

tune in all weekend for quality programming, giveaways and prizes, games, music, talk, and pure aural ecstasy.

this day was almost too much Nerdist. …almost. Nerdist panel at C2E2 and the live podcast recording. I got to ask two quemments. I got to meet the whole crew. (I found out first hand that Jonah is ridiculously nice… and that Alison Haislip is just as pretty in person.) now I need sleep so I can tackle C2E2 day two head on.
